Shearwaters Members Awards

Awards recognise people who contribute to the branch and as such Shearwaters gives awards  each year to those members who have made a difference through their participation.

Geoff Barton Memorial Award

This award is awarded to the Shearwaters member who is most active on rides during the year. Points are awarded based on the following table and the member with the most points accrued at the end of the year (October to September) will be awarded the trophy. It is a perpetual trophy which the winner holds for the 12 months.

Point System

If you lead a ride, you will get 4 points (1 for attending and 3 for leading)

If you are Tail End Charlie on a ride, you will get 3 points (1 for attending and 2 for Tail Ender)

Points will not be awarded for less than a full days attendance on a ride.

The more you participate in Branch Rides, the better your chances of winning the award.

Mutton Bird Award

This award is voted by committee. Each month each committee member awards votes to members (much like Brownlow voting) they consider have contributed to the Branch above and beyond. These votes are tallied and the member with the most votes, gets the award. This is a clubman award to recognise members who contribute to the success of the branch.

This is a perpetual trophy and is awarded in October annually.

Rear Guard Award

Each pillion on a ride gets 1 point and the pillion with the most points, is awarded this trophy.

Hall of Fame
